GLAM Scam The beginning…

So I’ve been doing make up for some time now, and the more and more I watch some of these makeup videos on youtube, the more inspired I feel. There’s so many talented people in the world, and so many of them are willing to share their gift to youtube, which is absolutely awesome. Hoping to join in the elite group of Makeup Gurus just by challenging myself more, and taking the same opportunity to share my passion with all you guys!! Thanks for stopping by my channel, viewing my vids, and showing your support. Much Love y’all. PEACE! Muah!

    Hi,

I am close to 40 y.o. I have not worn full make-up since my prom lol. I am starting to get back into it. Well, unfortunately I found out that MAC stings my face alot! So I kinda stick to Almay. But I am trying to look for hypo-allergenic make-up that won’t break me out or start an allergic reaction. Do you have any suggestions?

I am in my late 20’s and I am just now getting into makeup. I love your tutorials they are really helpful. I am a NC 50 color ( MAC) but I wanted to know what is the name of a good eyeshadow highlighter for your eyes? Also, what about some of the brushes you use that will really give you good results? Please respond thanks so much.

Hey there Ashley! What I find is a great highlighter, sort of universal for our skin, is something that contains a warm (peachy) cream shade with slight gold reflects/ shimmer. Golds and bronzers look GREAT on our skin, but as a brow bone highlighter, you can take down the intensity of metallic finish of most golds and bronzers, and opt for a toned down finish like a satin or frost. Here’s some recommendations so that you can have some choices; NARS “Night Sun” eyeshadow, M.A.C. “Nylon” or “Rice Paper”, Sephora Collections “Bling Bling Style” eyeshadow, Urban Decay’s “Blunt” or “Blaze”, IMAN Cosmetics “White Gold” eyeshadow. You can easily find similar shades in any number of 88 or 120 shimmer/ neutral palettes as well. Hope this helps!

Also, in terms of brushes, if you’re inquiring about your personal use, but you still want great quality brushes, you can fair well with picking up some Crown Brush brushes, Sigma, Coastal Scents, Sonia Kashuk or Japonesque. They hit at different price points but they’re all great brushes and I own a brush or two from each of these companies, it so far, it’s given me great, long lasting results. For professional, heavy duty use, I would recommend Bdellium Tools…a little pricey, but really worth the investment! Hope this helps!

    Hello-

Your site is inspiring! What do you use to remove all the make-up, gently, daily? How often do you wear a full face of make-up?

    J

So sorry for the late response, and I trust you may have already found your answer but I still wanted to share; I typically use a fragrance-free makeup remover wipe (doesn’t really matter what brand because I’ve tried a lot), and then I go back over my face using a pore opening astringent and witch hazel. I don’t wear a FULL face very often at all. I more regularly just wear lipcolor, a little bronzer and mascara, and may go all out with the full makeup a couple days a week, primarily when I’m filming my tutorials. Hopes this helps!

hey I have a little dark spots in my face and my face blemish can you help me please

I would suggest you try out some skin clarifying cleansers. More intense options would be some types of fade creams with glycolic acids, but I’ve seen it work wonders on my friends. Before you explore any of these options though, you should see a dermatologist first to determine whether or not the dark spots are from acne blemishes, if it’s hormonal, if you have any skin allergies, etc.

    • glamscamartists 10/13/2011 at 10:36 am #

LOL!! You should go out to a department store and get a makeover!! It’ll be fun, and it’s a great way to pop your “Makeup Cherry”. Try the M.A.C. counter and ask for something glamorous, something totally outside your comfort zone…but not too “drag queeny”…like right at the edge of extreme. LOL!
