IMAN Cosmetic’s Leather & Lace Contest (ends Oct. 15, 2010)

14 Oct

You guys, I am sooo friggin’ late, but I just had to try my hand at this.

Iman "Leather & Lace Inspired" look

Anyone who knows me, or watches my YouTube vids, KNOWS that I live for IMAN cosmetics!! I own several of her pressed powders, a couple of her eyeshadows, a oil blocking foundation primer, some concealer…and OH YEH, her bomb-ass FOUNDATION STICKS!!

Imagine my excitement when I learned (in the 11th hour, mind you) that IMAN Cosmetics was hosting a contest. The contest’s theme is around their “Leather & Lace” Collection for the Fall/ Winter season, and they’re asking for your best Leather & Lace inspired makeup based off of their campaign.

Iman Leather & Lace Inspired look

My look is based off of the berry lips (as seen in the campaign ad) as well as a silver, gray and black smokey eye (worn by Miss IMAN herself). I had a lot of fun with this look. Tutorial for this look as well as full product listing, right below the cut!… Continue reading

Look of the Day: Vavoom!

12 Oct
What turns heads more than fire engine red lips?! Add that with intensely scupted, silver/ black lids for drama, and you’re sure to have peoples heads spinning, and tongues wagging!

Fly Won

You know what I say, “There ARE no rules to makeup!”, that’s why even though this Diva’s wearing bold lips AND bold lids, it somehow doesn’t look too overpowering. The reason why is because I opted to play down the rest of the face using minimum color on the cheeks and face as far as blush, highlighting and contouring. Rather, I created a flawlass face using my FAV liquid foundation, Revlon ColorStay, created depth with some lighter shades using concealer, and dusted on some translucent powder and the tiniest amount of mineral pressed powder (LA Colors brand, review coming soon). Flawless Foundation Application

12 Oct

Eyes: Loreal Hip Duo "Sculpted"

I get SOOOO  many questions here lately regarding my foundation application. I’ll be honest Divas, it’s ever changing; from cream foundations, foundation sticks to liquid or even mousse foundation, I constantly modify my application techniques, constantly perfecting it little by little.

I’m not one of those chicks that typically use specific tools to apply my foundation, i.e., a foundation brush ONLY to apply my foundation. In my search to achieve the most flawless coverage, I found a neat trick using a totally different brush meant for a different purpose altogether! Continue reading

Products That I’m Lovin’: Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation

2 Sep

Awesome coverage, silky formula, lasts all day, and pretty friggin’ affordable. What more could you ask for in a liquid foundation??

Revlon Colorstay Makeup with SPF 12, #370 Toast

Now Divas, I know that a lot of you guys tend to shy away from liquid foundation because there’s just so much fuss with them! I know, trust me, I know. Depending on the weather outside, I tend to stay away from liquid foundations all together, because as you know, in summer heat, products such as liquid foundations tend to clog up the pores (which is not a good look) or frankly, run, move around on the skin, or separate on the skin as well (which is DEFINITELY not a good look). With all things considered, if you have the basics down with working with liquid foundation ( how to apply it depending on your coverage desire, what type of foundation formula you chose depending on your skin type, and of course, setting your foundation with a complimentary powder) you’ll find that with this product, it’s pretty impressive, and dare I say, rival most of the more expensive comps; i.e. MAC, MUFE, etc.

Personally, this is one liquid foundation that I constantly pick up and stock my kit with, ALWAYS!! I absolutely love, love, love this stuff! My Diva Tip: Don’t just take my word for it Divas. Take the Pepsi challenge and go try out samples of this products as well as comperable foundations, swipe them, and you be the judge.
